“I highly recommend Nicole Hunter as a doula. My second pregnancy was consider high risk as was the case with my first. After many conversations and test I was given the green light for a VBAC. Knowing nothing about labor since my first was a c- section, I hired Nicole. Initially, I was only interested in a few classes but quickly realized the benefits of including her in our journey. Nicole educated me on the labor process and what questions I needed to ask for a successfully labor. She was by our side as we begun the induction process. Her being there was vital. Although, I was cleared for a VBAC it was becoming obvious that the medial team was focused on a repeat c-section. Staying true to my birth plan, Nicole (with my permission) started searching for respectable medical sources to back my birth plan. Armed with documentation Nicole found I was able to continue with labor for another 12 hours. The nurses praised Nicole techniques for moving labor along. She coached my husband and kept me as active as I cold could be with being tied to monitors. Although my induction failed due to lack of dilation, we would have not made it that far without Nicole. “When I found out I was expecting I was adamant that a doula was a necessity and not optional. My last birth experience was nothing like I expected despite all the reading and YouTube video watching I participated in. I felt unprepared and like my voice wasn’t heard.
